Goals of the Project:

Capitol Hill Day is a critical inflection point for advocacy, as it is a two-day sprint to capture Congress's and key government agencies' attention. The challenge:

  • Timeframe: Only five weeks to build the brand and all assets.

  • Expectations: The materials had to inspire confidence in policymakers while energizing volunteers and members.

  • Outcomes: The geothermal industry needed to create visibility strong enough to move the policy needle.

Without a unified voice, the geothermal community risked being drowned out in a crowded energy landscape. Gallant’s support and tools strengthened Geothermal Rising’s senior leadership and staff to deliver impact across the entire geothermal industry.

Outcome:

Gallant activated its Built for the Brave methodology to deliver fast, strategic impact:

  • Integrated Communications Campaign: Delivered across all digital channels from attendee registration to media outreach and sponsorship solicitations.

  • Brand & Messaging: Developed a Capitol Hill Day identity aligned with GR’s overarching mission and brand.

  • Communications Collateral: Produced briefing documents, one-pagers, signage, and talking-point templates.

  • Volunteer & Staff Toolkits: Provided editable assets for social media, presentations, and outreach to build on future momentum.

  • On-Site Video Production: Captured footage of member advocacy and Hill meetings for recap storytelling.

  • Digital Amplification: Created social graphics and web assets to extend the message before, during, and after the event.

Policy Outcomes – Geothermal Tax credits were preserved, with GTO funding increasing from $118 million to $488 million, and over half of the offices requested follow-up information.

Capitol Hill Day delivered both immediate visibility and lasting policy impact based on the hard work from Geothermal Rising’s senior leadership, staff, members, and volunteers:

  • Fifty-two attendees from 33 organizations across 17 sectors held 104 congressional and three agency meetings, with materials used in nearly every session.

  • ~16.5M unique monthly visitors reached via PR efforts, including registered media attendance, with social media engagement surging to 1.59M impressions and a 120-follower growth during Capitol Hill Day week, driving 55,000 views to their website and 3,500 to their event webpage.

  • Post-event success led to one participant advancing in their membership involvement and several organizations joining, with marketing assets extending their reach to ~20,000, ensuring the message carried beyond Washington.

  • Stakeholders and volunteers praised the professionalism: “This was the most cohesive Hill Day we’ve ever had.”
